How to Get Your Site Indexed Faster on Google (Using Search Console)

Hey all!

In this video, I show you how to get your site indexed faster on Google using the Google Webmaster Search Console.

This is basically a ‘center’ for SEO managed by Google that allows you to see where you rank and whether your site is indexed yet or not.

If it isn’t yet indexed, you can submit your site for a manual ‘review’, where they would look at your site and if they find value, index it on their search engines potentially quicker than if you were to just wait for them to index you.

This can also be useful if you just uploaded a new post or made changes to an existing post and want Google SEO to reflect that – you can get the Google spiders to crawl your site manually rather than wait for them to do so automatically.

The way you do this is simply by going to the Google Webmaster Tools (type in Google Search Console in Google) and adding your site there.

You may need to create a Google + account, but that shouldn’t take you too long.

After you gain access to the main search console, add your website, and verify it by one of 5 ways. The easiest and quickest one is to simply copy the meta code Google provides you and paste it into the header section of your website. You would then click on ‘verify’ and Google will verify that the site is indeed yours and give you access to the main tools we are looking for.

The first thing we can do if your site is new is submit a sitemap to Google, which is basically a ‘map’ of your site. Go to the ‘sitemap’ tab and click on ‘create new sitemap’.

You may want to verify what your sitemap URL is exactly, but usually adding ‘/sitemap.xml’ to the end of your domain would do the trick. So if you domain is www.mydomain.com, you would input ‘www.mydomain.com/sitemap.xml’ into the slot.

After you do that, that is pretty much it – now Google will manually crawl your site and if it’s worthy, will input into their search.

You can also submit individual posts/pages for review by clicking on the ‘fetch as Google’ button, which should allow you to index individual pages.

That should be it though. To test if this is working out, just type in ‘site:mydomain.com’ into Google and see what comes up.

It may take a few hours to get working, but if it’s up, then your site is indexed by Google!

That’s it!
