ClickFunnels: How to Get Notified via Email After Getting a New Contact (Using Zapier)

Hey all!

In my previous post, I introduced you to a cool ClickFunnels text optin feature that allows you to gain new clients via text messages!

In this post, I show you how you can integrate Zapier with ClickFunnels so that you can get an email notification after a prospective client either signs up to your email list or purchases something through your ClickFunnels funnels.

This is a really simple integration and Zapier is basically a website that offers tons of different integrations between tons of different programs and applications.

So the first thing you will need to do is create your Zapier account. Simply go to and put in your name, last name, email, and password, click confirm, and then verify your email, and you should be good to go. You can change these details later on, so don’t worry too much about keeping them perfect.

Then you will need to add a new zap by clicking the ‘create new zap’ button at the top of your home screen.

The first part is the trigger – which means what action do we want to be taken if we want some action to happen. So we need to add ‘ClickFunnels’ as the trigger so that we can set gaining of new contact as a trigger to us getting an email.

Select which trigger specifically you want – people signing up or performing some action on your funnel or actually purchasing something within ClickFunnels. Either one will work for you to be able to get notified via email.

You will then need to synchronize your ClickFunnels account with Zapier so that it pulls out all the right details and all your funnels and steps become available within Zapier for you to choose from.

Select your funnel and select your step and you should be done for the ClickFunnels trigger part.

After this, you will need to select what email you want to use as the ‘sender’ of this notification. You can use the Zapier automatic email, which looks something like ‘, or you can select a specific gmail that you have to send emails out. Both work pretty much exactly the same. If you are sending emails out to other people and want the email to look prettier, you may want to use the gmail instead of the default Zapier one.

You can then add in any words for your headline and body text. Remember that this information is for you and the people you are sending the email out to ONLY, so don’t worry too much about perfection here either.

You can also use the button on the right hand side of either option to put in the ClickFunnels form fields in, such as name, email, etc… This will also give you some other information about whoever is buying or subscribing on your ClickFunnels funnels in addition to simply receiving an email notification.

After you complete this step, you may need to add a contact to your funnel if you don’t have any yet just to let Zapier know that this integration is working well and as intended. If this is the case, just create a fake contact on your funnel and then click on ‘fetch data’ on Zapier and you should be good to go. Name your ‘zap’ and that is it, your integration should be complete and you should now receive email notifications with tons of information about your clients!

You can always edit and rename your zaps at any time.

If you also prefer, you can play around with some other options available to you, such as the ‘filter’ option that allows you to filter out certain notifications. So you can for example say that you want to receive emails ONLY IF the person included their email, or ONLY IF the person included their address, etc… what you set exactly is up to you and there are tons of options as to what filter you want to have.

That’s it!
