Hey everyone!

In this video I wanted to go over what is click/conversion tracking and why it is so essential for your business.

Basically, you can’t get to point B if you don’t know where point A is – and that is why tracking is essential if you want to grow and improve.

Without knowing where you currently stand and how much you know/don’t know, you can’t know what you have to improve and work on, right?

That’s where tracking comes in.

It is basically keeping track of your website/funnel and seeing what is working and what is not, which includes measuring the clicks to your website, and then basically ‘clicks’ to every other page of your funnel (tracked with pixels), until the user finally buys the product.

As you can imagine, this is extremely useful because it allows you to see where the bottleneck in your funnel is – is it the case that people are landing on your landing page and not signing up? Or they are signing up but for some reason not going to your sales page? Proper tracking can help you determine that.

There is a pretty funny but accurate quote by John Wanamaker that highlights the importance of tracking..

He says:

“Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; I just don’t know which half.” This really highlights that unless you track, you have absolutely no idea where you are generating the highest returns and where you are making losses.

So that’s about traffic sources.

But tracking is also about tracking your entire funnel and seeing where along that funnel you can make improvements.

If you see yourself generating 1000 visitors to your optin page, 500 signing up, and the rest dropping out, you may be wondering why this is happening.

Could it be due to:

  • A technical glitch?
  • Didn’t give enough of a reason to go to the next page?
  • Didn’t make it clear that they could actually see the next page?
  • Offer wasn’t enticing enough?
  • Promised something else and people didn’t want what you offered?
  • Something else?

With proper tracking, you can go back and take a good look at those steps and see what is going on – ultimately improving your page, your funnel, and your business…

This is where tracking comes in.

Personally, I use ClickMagick to set up my tracking, but you can use any tracking platform that you think you can work well with.

To be able to do this tracking, you need to use tracking pixels, tracking links, possibly postback URLs, Sub-IDs to make the process as smooth and clear as possible.

If you are completely new, this process may seem difficult and daunting at first, but believe me, it is not once you get used to it.
