ClickFunnels: How to Create a Survey

**Update: you can actually select the outcome based on the very first option people select, such as apples or oranges and it will still redirect your visitors only after they finish the survey!

Hey all!

In this video, I show you how to create a ClickFunnels survey step-by-step. This is an incredibly powerful tool as you may have learned from our previous post on the review about the book “Ask” by Ryan Levesque as it allows you to give your visitors exactly what they are looking for with little room for doubt. If your visitors could tell you exactly what they want and then you provide them with it, wouldn’t you take that opportunity to do so? Now you can with the survey option!

I created a little survey for demonstration purposes using the ClickFunnels survey builder asking a series of questions that link to each other. The cool thing is that this allows you to build trust and increases conversion rates. You provide the visitors with exactly what they want and build trust since the questions you ask are built off of the answers to the previous questions, so the visitors know you are paying attention and can provide value.

In order to create your survey, you need to add a ‘survey’ element from your ClickFunnels elements bar. To start off, you can look at some of the simpler configurations available by clicking on the ‘advanced’ tab of that element. That will allow you to edit things like text size, question placement, and hover color when you hover over the answers.

Now that we have over with, we can move on to some of the more essential elements of the ClickFunnels survey builder. After you click on ‘edit survey options’, the righthand-most tab called ‘settings’ simply allows you to have the progress bar or not – you can choose to hide it or display it for the audience. I would recommend keeping it on so that your visitors are ‘pre-framed’ as Russell Brunson says, which is incredibly important to ensure that your visitors know the extent of the survey before they undertake it. Essentially, it’s setting up expectations.

In regards to the trigger, don’t worry about that now as we will go over that in the next video. This basically allows you to setup a PIXEL from Facebook or Google to fire when someone selects a certain option from your survey – super powerful tool that will allow you to retarget and create a lookalike audience from those people that have shown interest in a particular answer or topic!

So that leaves us with outcomes and questions then in the ClickFunnels survey builder. The outcomes tab allows you to redirect people to a certain website or pull out a popup based on the responses your visitors put down. So for example if your visitors reply with ‘topic A’, then you would want to take them to a ‘topic A’ website. If they respond with interest in ‘topic B’, then you would want to redirect them to a ‘topic B’ site. This is really the whole point of the survey – it allows you to take people to the actual page they themselves are interested in and explicitly expressed their interest in.

Last but not least, the main part of the ClickFunnels survey builder – the questions. You literally just click on ‘create new question’, or ‘create new question group’ if you want to make more questions. The question group just makes it easier to group together questions that are in the same order, but depend on the answer to the previous question. So for example in the survey we made in the video, depending on what fruit people say they like, I will have a question asking them specific questions ABOUT that fruit. So if they said apple, my next question will be tailored towards apples, and if they say oranges, my next question will be tailored towards that. Making a question group for all the questions corresponding to the question before that just makes it easier to keep track of – aside from that, there are no benefits to having a ‘question group’ as opposed to a ‘question’.

That’s it!
