In this video, I go over Revcontent tracking with you when it comes to ClickMagick.
ClickMagick is a tool that helps you track clicks and conversions to your website/funnel, so using it in conjunction with Revcontent can make for some powerful tailoring/improving of your ads.
In particular, Revcontent uses 8 different tokens for tracking, and I go over all of them in this video.
4 are listed here in their FAQ and I explain how to use all the 4 listed here as well as the other 4 not listed:
However really, you need to just use 2 – content ID, and adv_targets.
This is because this information tells you what the exact ad is that generated you the conversion, and what was the ‘keyword’, or targeting group that generated it.
I also highly recommend that you set up postback URL tracking so that you can actually optimize the campaigns using sale data rather than just conversion data, such as actions or engagements.

Once you get the postback URLs setup (if your network is not listed, then just follow the same steps I do in these videos but for your network), optimizing and improving your campaigns should be a breeze as you remove the targeting groups that aren’t working for you, and invest more into interest groups that are.
Same applies to ads, as you can focus more on the good ads that are doing the job for you, and remove the ads that aren’t performing.
You can use up to 5 Sub-IDs with ClickMagick, so that means that you can use up to 5 different tokens to track the data with.
One thing I did note is that you may see the same exact information for a tracking link in ClickMagick if the first 2 Sub-IDs are exact the same, regardless of whether the last 3 are the same or not.
To combat this, you can either stick to just 2 Sub-IDs – the most important ones that I mentioned – or you can just download the CSV report for your tracking link, and then just match the IPs of the conversion data from your tracking link to the report, and get all the detailed stats for the Sub-IDs that way.
The choice is totally yours and there is no one ‘right’ way of doing this.
